Beauty: Krazy for Kiko
I was in Milan for a week to visit some major cosmetic companies. While I was there, I was told that I should definitely check out Kiko stores. I did what I was told, and I like what I’ve discovered!
Living in the United States, I never knew that Kiko Makeup is one of the most popular makeup stores in Milan. Kiko Makeup Milano was established and founded in 1977, it is an Italian professional cosmetics brand that features a range of cutting-edge makeup, face and body treatments to satisfy the beauty requirements of women, and even men, of any age. “Be What You Want to Be.”, that is how the company sums up its vision of Beauty. Through its wide and diversified range of products, KIKO aims to allow everyone to express their own personality with custom-made products.
When I walked into Kiko, I was pretty much like a little kid in the candy store. I didn’t even know where to start with the massive range of colors, textures and sensations of all the cosmetics. AND….. things just keep getting better, the prices for the products go from 6-18 euros (which is 8 – 25 US dollars)…. it’s beyond reasonable, it’s almost too good to be true!
It took me quite some self-control to pick up only 4 items to bring home on my first visit. Here’s a quick review on the products:
- Essential Bronzer — In summer time I often skip blush and use only bronzer instead. I usually prefer bronzers that has a subtle glow but not sparkly, the last thing I need is to look like I’m wearing the wrong shade or I’m fakely tanned. This bronzer goes on smoothly (I applied with a big brush) and it feels really light on the skin. It makes my skin looks like it’s naturally sun-kissed with just the right amount of shine.
- BB Cream SPF15 — Every brand claims to have the best BB cream, which makes Bb creams a good product to test on. Kiko’s BB cream reminds me of L’Oreal’s Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. It gives some coverage, and it’s not too thick or cakey. I like the smooth and matte finish it leaves on my skin. For the days I don’t need heavy makeups, this and some mascara would be just enough for the day.
- Long Lasting Colour Lip Marker — I’m usually not a lip stain fan, but this lip marker, I think it’s just lip stain with a different name, goes on easily and evenly… (it is the worst when the color looks blotchy and uneven)…. it doesn’t dry out the lips, AND the color actually lasts very long. I got the #105 True Red, I love it!
- Kiss Balm — I LOVE tinted lip balms, it is my go-to product when I’m feeling lazy or not in the mood for real makeups. These kiss balms are super creamy and not sticky on the lips. The colors are sheer but gives just enough boost to brighten up the face. They smells delicious, too! I got the Apricot one and Coconut flavors, but I want them all.
Kiko stores can also be found in European countries like France, Spain and England…. I think they should seriously consider opening up some stores in New York soon, so I can continue my love to the rest of their products 🙂
