Beauty: Flash that “Loubi Under Red” with the Signature Christian Louboutin Nail

072814LouboutinPolish Remember back in the days when we all want a pair of Christian Louboutin? Well, I’m sure most women, whether they already have some red bottom soles or not, they still NEED another pair. Back in 1992, surveying one design from his third signature footwear collection, Christian Louboutin was dismayed that the actual shoe wasn’t as colorful and compelling as his original sketch, especially underneath.

And so he snatched a jar of nail varnish from an assistant, who howled in protest (so would I), and his famous red soles were born.
And till this day, the flash of the red soles as a women walk by is still one of the sexiest thing in fashion. After all these years, Mr. Louboutin decided to bring the famous red to the beauty world. While some assumed that it will be the “it” red lipstick to go with the soles, he created a line of nail polish, with the signature red, to bring a full circle to the story. louboutin01 After a long wait, Christian Louboutin finally launched the well-heeled, red nail enamel Rouge Louboutin this week on the eighth floor at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship in New York and the 15 Louboutin boutiques in the U.S. Compare to the steeping price tag of the designer’s shoe collection, the nail enamel at $50 a pop seems refreshingly affordable. Saks Fifth Avenue is also devoting five of their display windows to the launch, with each filled with a display of an imaginary city called Loubiville. It is sad that we won’t be able to move in to this magical place, but the architectural shapes of the imaginary city does actually give hints of products to come. main.original.585x0 (3) Back to the “Loubi Under Red” product….The bottle, inspired by calligraphy, turns the polish application into a luxurious experience with an additional precise sponge for painting underneath the nail or for intricate nail art on top of the nail.  The custom-designed, patented triangular brush picks up the right amount of formula, without air bubbles, to deliver flawless, chip-resistant coverage. Anyone can create the perfect Under Red sans the trip to the nail salon. A highly pigmented, super glossy formula delivers in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of traditional lacquer.  We don’t mean to be unfaithful to our regular shellac, but I think we actually found our new love for nail. FTR1-1294x1940 The packaging is also a true object d’art, as it is inspired by the tallest heels the designer ever created in 2007 – the Ballerina Ultima. It is larger than life, and we don’t mean to be so vain, but it looks so good on the vanity table. christian-louboutin-beauty-nail-paints-132 When fashion’s most whimsical shoe designer branches out into nail polish, would you expect anything less than the extraordinary?
